摘要
The oxidation of nitric oxide has been investigated in the presence of 2.3-dimethyl-2-butene, 1-butene, 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene, and n-butane. Nitrogen dioxide dosage curves are shown as a function of HC/NOx. ratios with NOx kept constant. The NO2 dosage increases very quickly with increasing concentrations of 2,3-dimethyl-2-butene and 1,3,5-trimethvlbenzene. Greater concentrations of 1-butene and n-butane are required to obtain similar increases in NO2 dosage. Oxidant was observed only after maximum dosage had been achieved. No oxidant was observed for the N-butane-NOx system under the conditions employed in this study. Neither the rate of oxidation of nitric oxide nor the rate of reaction of the hydrocarbon increased when water vapor was increased from 1.1 to 11 mm. © 1969, American Chemical Society.
