CALCULATION OF REEPSILON FOR KO-KBARO SYSTEM

An attempt is made to estimate the contribution to Reε for the K0-K̄0 system from the existence of CP nonconservation in the |ΔI|>12 K0→2π amplitude. In doing so, we have used as input three parametrizations of the S-wave I=2 π-π scattering phase shift δ2. These, in turn, were used to calculate the self-energy contribution to the complex-mass matrix for the K0-K̄0 system. It is found that the contribution of the above amplitude to Reε, although an order of magnitude larger than previous estimates by Truong and Barshay, is smaller than experimental measurements of Reε by at least a factor of 2. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
