摘要：

An extension of the usual models for dealing with core-excited states in light nuclei is proposed. The case of 4p-4h excitations in 40Ca is considered, and the J = T = 0 levels calculated. It is shown that 4p-4h states, which are usually neglected, can have rather low excitation energies, and therefore it might be unnecessary to include more complicated configurations to explain low-lying J = 0 states in 40Ca. © 1969.
