摘要
Measurements of second-harmonic generation of light from liquid-air interfaces are reported. A physical model is proposed in which the observed harmonics arise from the electric double layer at the surface. The experimental results from the surfaces of various liquids and solids are discussed in the light of this model. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
