The Mn55 nuclear magnetic resonance is studied as a function of temperature and magnetic field in the ferrimagnetic spiral MnCr2O4. Using the nmr frequency as a measure of the sublattice magnetization, the observed T3 dependence indicates a linear spin wave dispersion relation as expected for a spiral spin configuration. The field dependence of the nmr frequency is analyzed in terms of the spiral model and yields a cone half-angle of 63.5°. Evidence is presented indicating local deviations from the ideal ferrimagnetic spiral of Lyons, Kaplan, Dwight and Menyuk. © 1968.
