摘要
Electrical pulses of 1 msec duration passed radially through the isolated carp retina evoke electrical responses in the S-cells (horizontal cells). The responses were always positive (depolarization) and were evoked by a sclera-positive direction of the stimulating current. The amplitude and duration of the electrically-evoked responses increase with current, and change according to light conditions. At a certain strength of current the absolute value of the depolarization reaches a limit, which cannot be surpassed by further increase of current. A scheme is described to explain the relationship between the light- and electrically-evoked responses. © 1968.
