摘要
The time dependent formation of single-ended dislocation pile-ups from the sequential emission of dislocations from a stress-activated source is considered. Results are obtained by numerical integration of the equations of motion in the particular case where the inertia terms are negligible and the obstacle is represented by a single dislocation locked on the slip plane. The calculations suggest that the process of pile-up formation occurs by the cooperative motion of dislocations, and that for non-transition metals such as copper, it is essentially complete in an extremely short time. © 1969 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
