STELLAR WIND COLLISION AND X-RAY GENERATION IN MASSIVE BINARIES

摘要
The gas flow, stellar wind collision, and generation of X-ray emission in massive binaries are considered. X-ray emission of such binaries is caused by gas heating to temperatures of 10(7) - 10(8) K behind the front of shock waves which are formed due to the collision of the stellar wind flowing out from the components of binary system either with the surface of the other component or with the stellar wind flowing out from the other component. The distributions of the hot gas temperature and density in the shock layers are obtained. Using these distributions, the bremsstrahlung X-ray emission from the region of stellar wind collision is calculated.
