摘要
[Cu(C22H26NO4)2], Mr = 800.5, is a biscoordinate complex CuII L2 where the bidentate L ligand is an N-ethylsalicylideneaminato derivative having the long chain substituent OCOC6H4O(CH2)5CH3 in the para position with respect to C=N. This compound is crystalline at room temperature and melts giving monotropic nematic mesomorphism. Crystals are triclinic, P1, a = 10.866 (5), b = 11.307 (4), c = 8.768 (5),Å,α= 106-37 (5), β = 90.32 (4), γ = 97.34 (6) °, V= 1024 (2),Å3, Z= 1, Dm (flotation)= 1.30 (5), Dx = 1.297 g cm-3, λ.(Cu Kα) = 1.54178, Å, µ = 12.1 cm-1, F(000)=423, room temperature, R = 0.085 for 3033 observed independent reflections. The complex is trans square planar. The molecule has Ci symmetry and a flattened shape. The dihedral angle between the planar salicylideneaminato group and the N-bonded ethyl group is 89.3 (8) °. The planar salicylideneaminato group and the benzoyloxy group are twisted by 57.1°. © 1990 International Union of Crystallography.
