UNUSUAL LOCATIONS AND MANIFESTATIONS OF GLOMUS TUMORS (GLOMANGIOMAS)

Two cases of glomangioma in varied locations of the upper extremity are presented. Neither was found in the common subungual location. The clinical characteristics of upper extremity location, paroxysms of pain on pressure, and subcutaneous location of a round firm mass are reviewed. The histopathology consists of a collection of vessels lined by a layer of cuboidal endothelium combined with nerve and muscle fibers. It is hoped that a more frequent and accurate preoperative diagnosis can be made by an increased awareness of the historical and clinical features of glomangioma. © 1968.
