CHANGES IN PYRUVATE KINASE AND LACTATE DEHYDROGENASE ACTIVITY IN RAT LUNG DURING CULTIVATION AND SPONTANEOUS DEVELOPMENT OF MALIGNANCY IN-VITRO

摘要
During cultivation in vitro the pyruvate kinase (PK) and lactate-dehydrogenase (LDH) activity of rat lung tissue increased rapidly, approaching the values found in YAT cells. These changes preceded the increase in glycolysis seen in primary explants and occurred much earlier than the 'spontaneous' development of malignancy in vitro. Thus, high PK and LDH activities could not be used as a criterion of malignant transformation in vitro. © 1969.
