摘要
Singly isolated mammalian myocardial cells beating in culture were utilized to investigate the possible mechanism of adriamycin cardiotoxicity. Two distinct effects were apparent 24 hours after treatment with 1.7 μg/ml of adriamycin: (1) nucleolar fragmentation, segregation, and chromatin clumping, as evidenced by phase contrast and electron microscopy; (2) inhibition of mitochondrial stimulatio, as revealed by u.v.-microbeam irradiation. The two effects, nuclear and mitochondrial, at early times seemed to be independent of each other. The ultrastructure of the mitochondria in treated cells appeared normal. © 1979.
