HISTOLOGICAL ANATOMY OF EXCRETORY AND REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEMS OF LONGIDORUS-MACROSOMA

A pattern of the excretory system in L. macrosoma is suggested, consisting of a ventral excretory pore at the level of the nerve ring, which leads to a non-canalicular tissue in its anterior part, then to two nucleated glands embedded in the tissues of a ventrally located ampulla-like structure. Some histologic features of the female reproductive system, especially the ovejector, are described from paraffin cross-sections. A detailed anatomical study of the male reproductive system revealed the presence of ejaculatory and rectal glands. © 1969 BRILL.
