摘要
Daphnia cucullata was given a broad size range of polystyrene beads (mean diam, 21 μm; range, 5-35 μm) in lake water. The animals collected the beads nonselectively into the filtering apparatus. In the intestine, however, the distribution was highly skewed toward smaller sizes. The results suggest that D. cucullata selects against larger particles. -from Author
