OUTER-SHELL-REORGANIZATION ENERGY FOR ELECTRON-TRANSFER REACTIONS IN REVERSE MICELLES

摘要
Electron-transfer reactions taking place in a bulk medium have been widely studied with respect to the influence of the medium on the reaction rate. We deal with the same type of reaction occurring in a finite-sized medium, simulating a reverse micelle. We show how the Marcus classical formulae must be modified to take into account the finite size of the medium, and present some relevant calculations which are illustrative of the effects of this finiteness in different cases.
