PHOTOLUMINESCENCE POLARIZATION PROPERTIES OF CDSXSE1-X NANOCRYSTALS IN GLASSES - EVIDENCE FOR HEXAGONAL STRUCTURE

摘要
Absorption and photoluminescence of glasses doped with CdS0.4Se0.6 nanocrystals of 30 nm mean size have been studied at low temperature. Under quasi-resonant excitation with circularly or linearly polarized light, the luminescence is partially polarized in the same manner as the exciting light. Analysis of the effect of an applied magnetic field on the degree of polarization shows that the nanocrystals have wurtzite structure and that one of the luminescence bands must be ascribed to an excition bound to a neutral donor.
