EXPERIMENTAL RESOLUTION OF THE GD-145 EPSILON-BETA-DECAY BRANCHING RATIO ANOMALIES

摘要
Previously reported large anomalies in 145Gd ε{lunate}/β+ decay branching ratios can be completely explained by improved experimental data. New, high-statistics decay-scheme data show conclusively that the anomalies resulted from numerous, formerly unobserved, weak transitions from levels in 145Eu fed primarily by ε{lunate}-decay. In addition, the 145Gd β+ endpoint is measured by β-γ coincidence techniques to be 240 keV lower than originally reported. © 1979.
