ULTRAFAST CONFORMATIONAL RELAXATION OF TRIPHENYLMETHANE DYES - SPECTRAL CHARACTERIZATION

摘要
Absorption cross sections of the fast transient state formed during the excited-state deactivation process of the triphenylmethane dye ethyl violet are extracted from picosecond time resolved pump-probe experiments in the 350-750-nm spectral range. Absorption and stimulated emission cross sections of the dye first excited state are also obtained from these experiments and from stationary fluorescence measurements. The transient state absorption spectrum is found to be similar to that of S1 but spectrally shifted to higher energies. The transient state is described as an excited-state conformer.
