POLARIZATION OF NEUTRONS FROM D(D,N)3HE REACTION AT ED=80 TO 150 KEV

摘要：

The polarization of neutrons from the d-d-reaction was investigated in the energy region Ed=80 to 140keV at an angle of Θ1=50°lab. Using a polarimeter consisting of a He-gasscintillation detector and two plastic detectors it was possible to reduce the background to a negligible amount. A maximum of neutron polarization of (-14.9 ±2.2)% was found at Ed=100 keV. The resonancelike behavior is a further indication of an unknown excited level in4He at 23.9 MeV as given in ref.14. © 1968 Springer-Verlag.
