摘要
:
The assignment of the absorption spectra of 2-hydroxytropone (2-HT) is reported by measuring the circular dichroism spectra of the β-cyclodextrin complexes with 2-HT and 2-HT anion. It is concluded that the first (270-400 nm) and second (210-270 nm) bands of 2-HT are respectively composed of two electronic transitions having perpendicular and parallel polarizations with respect to the long axis of 2-HT. Our results are in complete agreement with the results obtained from the dichroic spectra of tropone derivatives in a stretched polyvinylalcohol sheet by Hoshi and Tanizaki. © 1978.
