摘要
The effect of sediment and soil organic carbon content on adsorption of acetophenone was examined. Sorption isothrms were determined for sediment and soil samples collected from the Ohio, Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois rivers and their watersheds. The adsorption isotherm were linear over the entire concentration range studied and gave a good fit to the modified Freundlich equation (Cs= Kp· Cw). The linear partition coefficient (Kp) was correlated significantly with percent organic carbon in sil and sediment samples. The amount of clay appeared to be important in some cases where organic carbon was low and did not mask the effect of the clay minerals. The Kocvalue (Kp÷ organic carbon, %) estimated from the octanol water partition coefficient (Kow) was in good agreement with the Kocvalue determined experimentally. © 1979 The Williams & Wilkins Co.
