摘要：

Effects of material inhomogeneity on elastic waves generated in solid by impulsive loading of surface are investigated; where variation in material properties is sufficiently smooth, geometric optics asymptotic solution, which is valid for impulsive loads of sufficiently short time duration, is used; comparison is made, using one-dimensional problem, of asymptotic solution and computer solution in which material was approximated by layers of homogeneous properties; three-dimensional problems also are considered with asymptotic method.
