摘要
The present study deals with the influence of the molecular weight and the type of poly(alkyl alpha-cyanoacrylate), the presence of various types of basic or acidic substances and diffusion on the thermal degradation of the polymers. Dynamic thermogravimetric analysis was used for evaluation of the reaction order, the activation energy and the pre-exponential factor for the thermal degradation of the studied polymers. There is a particular molecular weight for each type of polymer, at which the rate of degradation is highest and the probability of side reaction is least. It was found that inhibitors of anionic (acidic substances) and radical polymerization accelerate the thermal degradation, and that basic substances inhibit it.
