ELECTRON MOBILITY TRANSITION IN A RANDOM SYSTEM OF HARD-CORE SCATTERERS

摘要
The mobility of an electron in an infinite system of randomly located identical hard-core scatterers is calculated to all orders in the density of scatterers. For fixed temperature a large drop in mobility is found at a characteristic density. The possible relevance of this result to the switching effect observed in amorphous semiconductors and the metal-insulator transition in a noncrystalline system is discussed. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
