摘要
Vmylpyridine-divmylbenzene copolymer was found to have an excellent capacity for removing phenol from aqueous solution. The breakthrough capacity of the copolymer with <l-ppm leakage in the effluent was remarkably higher than that observed with porous styrene-divinylbenzene resins with no ion exchange functional group, and compared well with that obtained with a weak base anion exchange resin in the free base form. The breakthrough capacity of the copolymer was scarcely affected by the presence of sodium chloride and sulfate. On the contrary, the breakthrough capacities of strong base and weak base anion exchange resins were conspicuously reduced in the presence of these inorganic salts. Elution of the adsorbed phenol from the copolymer was easily accomplished by a simple treatment with organic solvents such as acetone and methanol, which was notably easier than those from anion exchange resins, and the copolymer was efficiently regenerated. © 1979, American Chemical Society.
