摘要
High-resolution electron microscopy of a sulfided alumina-supported nickel-molybdenum catalyst showed that the molybdenum sulfide is present in multi-layered slabs. In spent catalysts the molybdenum sulfide is predominantly in the form of single or double-layered slabs. Gasification of the carbon deposits on the spent catalysts with hydrogen resulted in an increased stacking. The carbonaceous material is not located at specific parts of the surface and consists of irregularly shaped cloudy structures. A morphological model of the catalyst in the working state is proposed. © 1990.
