摘要
250000 different controlled syntheses on one microscopy cover slide are achieved by a combination of solid‐phase synthesis and photolithography. Fodor et al. describe a procedure for the synthesis of oligopeptides and nucleotides in which photolabile protecting groups on fragments attached to the slide are removed selectively by irradiation through a mask to allow coupling at precisely defined sites. In this way different peptide or nucleotide sequences can be rapidly synthesized in close proximity. Copyright © 1991 by VCH Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, Germany
