SOME PROPERTIES OF FERROMAGNETIC AND TRANSITION METAL FILMS PREPARED BY EVAPORATION ONTO LIQUID HELIUM COOLED SUBSTRATES

摘要
Results are presented on the properties of thin films of Yt, Sc, Fe, Ni and Ni-Fe alloys produced by deposition onto liquid helium cooled substrates. An attempt is made to correlate the resistivity, structure and magnetic properties of the films. In particular nickel films so produced have been found to be non-ferromagnetic at room temperature, possibly because of the occurrence of superparamagnetism in these very small crystallite size films. © 1969.
