摘要
A simple model for nonresonant vibration-to-vibration energy transfer due to dipole-dipole interactions is used to yield analytic expressions for the energy-transfer probability as a function of impact parameter, relative velocity, and deviation from resonance. Where the deviation from resonance is sufficiently large, the probabilities may be integrated over the impact parameter distribution, and in some cases over the velocity distribution, to obtain cross sections for V→V energy transfer.
