摘要
The roles played by kinetic theory and gas-surface interactions in the interpretation of measurements made by mass spectrometers, pressure gauges, and satellite drag are discussed. The effect of adsorption is analyzed in detail. A resolution of the discrepancies between drag and instrumental measurements is proposed, taking into account the corrections for adsorption, gauge calibration, and chemical reactions of atomic oxygen. © 1969.
