摘要
Different regions of the embryonic and postembryonic central nervous system have been tested for their ability to induce tubule formation in metanephrogenic mesenchyme in vitro. Throughout fetal life dorsal regions of brain and spinal cord proved to be very active inducers. These tissues appear to be the most likely source from which to isolate active material. There is a rapid decline of activity during the first postnatal week. Tubule-inducing activity is present in ventral regions but shows up with a delay of 24-48 hours. Tubule production is induced by various other embryonic tissues including the 9-day chick dorsal brain. © 1969.
