OXYGEN DIFFUSION IN TETRAGONAL Y1BA2CU3O7-X CRYSTALS

摘要
The kinetics of oxygen diffusion in tetragonally structured Y//1Ba//2Cu//3O//7// minus //x superconductors quenched from 910 degree C has been studied by means of dilatation measurements. Experimental results show that the tetragonal to orthorhombic transition associated with the oxygen content in the crystal is controlled by oxygen diffusion, and its activation energy is about 17690 cal/mol. If the diameter of a particle is assumed to be 20 mu m, its diffusion coefficient D can be expressed as D equals (3. 47 multiplied by 10** minus **6cm**2/s) exp left bracket minus (17690 cal/mol)/RT right bracket .
