EXACT-SOLUTIONS FOR SELECTIVE EXCITATION PULSES .2. EXCITATION PULSES WITH PHASE-CONTROL

Previous results on the inverse scattering solution to the calculation of selective excitation pulses are extended to describe in detail excitation pulses. It is seen that phase within an excited profile may be adjusted by the incorporation of bound states in the inverse scattering problem. From this a general technique for the creation of phase-controlled excitation pulses is developed. These techniques are illustrated in the creation of refocused and non-refocused RF pulses with square profiles. © 1992.
