ON THE DECOUPLING OF DOUBLER FERMIONS IN THE LATTICE STANDARD MODEL

We consider several proposals for putting the standard model on the lattice and find that in all but the model proposed by Borrelli et al. there are nondecoupling effects of the doublers at one loop. It is unclear whether decoupling can be maintained at all loops in the model of Borrelli et al. The effects we study should be considered in any lattice model of a spontaneously broken chiral gauge theory with massive doubler fermions.
