FREE-VIBRATIONS OF AXIALLY LOADED BEAMS WITH CONCENTRATED MASSES AND INTERMEDIATE ELASTIC SUPPORTS

摘要
The problem of free lateral vibration of an axially loaded Bernoulli-Euler beam with intermediate elastic supports and concentrated masses is considered. The exact solution of the problem for 10 combinations of classical boundary conditions is obtained by applying the Green function method. In the case of a beam with N elastic supports and/or concentrated masses the frequency equation is expressed by means of an Nth order determinant. Numerical examples for a symmetric system with two elastic supports and concentrated masses are given. © 1994 Academic Press Limited.
