MEASUREMENT OF ACTIVITY-COEFFICIENTS AT INFINITE DILUTION BY STRIPPING AND RETENTION TIME METHODS

The values of the activity coefficients at infinite dilution for n-hexane, methylcyclopentane, cyclohexane, methylcyclohexane, benzene and toluene in three solvents: phenol, furfural and N,N-dimethylformamide are reported. The measurements of the activity coefficients have been made by the retention time technique and by the stripping method. The results are compared and agree within 10-20%. The comparison is extended to other authors' data. The values of excess enthalpies are reported and discussed. © 1979.
