THE CL NUCLEAR-QUADRUPOLE COUPLING TENSOR OF DICHLOROSILANE, SIH2CL2

摘要
The b-type rotational spectrum of 28SiH235Cl2 has been remeasured in the frequency region 10.3-15.7 GHz (J = 1-10) using a microwave Fourier transform (MWFT) cavity spectrometer. The MWFT technique has permitted resolution of the complex hyperfine patterns observed for this molecule, which in turn has allowed the precise determination of the Cl nuclear quadrupole coupling constants. In particular, perturbations in the 918-827 transition have been analyzed to obtain a value for |Xab|. The quadrupole coupling tensor has been diagonalized to yield the principal values Xzz = -38.33(13) MHz, Xxx = 17.60(13) MHz, and Xyy = 20.7245(19)MHz. The results are discussed in terms of the bonding in SiH2Cl2 . © 1993 Academic Press, Inc.
