MEASURED AND CALCULATED EARTH-ATMOSPHERE RADIANCE IN 8-14-MU WINDOW AS A FUNCTION OF ALTITUDE

摘要
Aircraft measurements of the earth-atmosphere radiance in the 8-14-μ window are compared with calculated values as a function of altitude. Two instruments, the Barnes PRT-4 radiometer and the Block I6T interferometer spectrometer, were used. The theoretical model is found to describe satisfactorily the integrated radiance from the earth and lower atmosphere. © 1969 Optical Society of America.
