摘要
Results of the characterization of Ce in ThCu2Si2 are presented as being mostly consistent with a spin-glass-cluster-glass interpretation, rather than long-range ferromagnetic order. Even at the 5 at. % Ce level, scaling of T(f) shows Ce-Ce correlation effects. Reasons for why ThCu2Si2 as a host lattice engenders such magnetic behavior, while Y, La, and LuCu2Si2 do not, as well as the possibility that ferromagnetic correlations are important for the formation of the heavy-fermion ground state, are discussed.
