摘要
Both the magnitude and phase of the third-order nonlinear susceptibility of poly(3-butylthiophene) and poly(3-decylthiophene) have been measured with third harmonic generation in the range of 953.5 to 1904 nm. In this spectral region, the dispersion of the cubic susceptibility is explained by the presence of two-photon states located on each side of the lowest state allowed for one-photon transitions, 1Bu. The coupling between the 1Bu state and the 1Ag excited state centered 5000 cm-1 above it strongly dominates the dispersion of the χ(3)0(3ω). © 1990.
