ON THE OLKHOVSKY-RECAMI APPROACH TO THE TUNNELING TIME PROBLEM

摘要
There has been renewed interest during the past decade in characteristic times associated with the elastic scattering of an incident electron by a one-dimensional barrier. In a recent critical review, Olkhovsky and Recami reject the average dwell time tau(D) as a worthwhile concept and propose new expressions for the average transmission and reflection times tau(T) and tau(R). In this paper their reason for rejecting tau(D) is criticized and numerical results for tau(T) calculated with their expression are presented and discussed.
