摘要
The process of spherical particle formation from a polymer emulsion was studied under slow coagulation condition during agitation. It was observed that a three-dimensional flocculated body was formed under the slow coagulation condition, but it was then dispersed into spherical particles by agitation. The relationship between agitation speed and particle size suggested that the flocculated body behaves like liquid droplets. It is postulated that pseudo-interfacial tension, generated by the interactions of the primary polymer particles, acts on the flocculated body and forms the spherical particles. © 1990, The Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan.
