摘要
1. 1. The membrane potential of the Big-D cell in the right parietal ganglion is sensitive to changes in pO2. 2. 2. Reducing the pO2 decreases the membrane potential whilst increasing the pO2 increases the membrane potential (makes it more negative). 3. 3. The maximum oxygen effect is seen in neurones that have Na+ injected into them (Δ 22·5 mV) compared with neurones that have K+ injected into them (Δ 7·5 mV). 4. 4. The average change of membrane potential for a standard change in pO2 was 8·6 ± mV for Na+-injected neurones (n = 57) and 4·6 ± 0·31mV for K+-injected neurones (n = 58). 5. 5. The response to pO2 is reduced by 80 per cent or abolished by ouabain. 6. 6. It is suggested that the electrogenic sodium pump is a major component in the response of the membrane potential to pO2. © 1969.
