No one equation of state can hope to satisfy all the conditions required of it for a variety of fluids. Equations of state are therefore numerous. This article discusses those equations which are useful for engineering applications, particularly cryogenic engineering. Special reference is made in each case to the practical use of the equations discussed. © 1969.
