摘要：

Effects of spatial coherence of an incident field on reflection and transmission at a stratified medium are studied. General formulas are derived for the radiant intensities of the reflected and transmitted fields in terms of the angular correlation function of the incident field. This function depends on the degree of spatial coherence of the source. An expression is obtained for the ratio of the total power of the reflected field to that of the incident field as a functional of the angular correlation function of the incident field. Explicit results are obtained for reflection of radiation generated by some model sources. Numerical results are presented for reflection at a dielectric half space and on a homogeneous dielectric slab. It is found that the effects are significant when the correlation distance of the source is small, of the order of a wavelength. © 1990.
