摘要
This report surveys the recent preparations and properties of hydrophilic elastomeric composite materials consisting of a matrix from silicone rubber and a hydrogel filler. The reader will find a description of preparation methods for these materials and their various properties, such as mechanical, swelling, biological, transport, and surface properties, which are important for a potential use in medical and pharmaceutical applications. The results of a microscopical study of the composite structure are also included.
