ELECTRON-IMPACT EXCITATION OF NE-X - COLLISION STRENGTHS AND RATE COEFFICIENTS

Collision strengths have been computed for all transitions belonging to the states of up to the n = 5 levels of Ne X. Calculations have been done in a wide range of energy in the LS coupling scheme. The standard and no-exchange R-matrix programs have been used to compute collision strengths for L less-than-or-equal-to 12 and for L > 12 respectively. Resonances have been highlighted and comparisons are made for collision strengths for the 1s-2s and 1s-2p transitions. Results have been tabulated in the energy range from thresholds to 116 Ry. Effective collision strengths, obtained after integrating the collision strengths over a Maxwellian distribution of electron velocities, are also tabulated in a wide range below log T(e) = 6.2K.
