SPACE GROUP RESONANCE IN ELECTROMAGNETIC-WAVE MULTIPLE-SCATTERING

摘要
The problem of light extinction in a medium consisting of correlated nonresonant electrical dipoles is considered. The recurrent-scattering correction is calculated for the extinction coefficient. This correction is positive and of the order of the number of scatterers per cubic wavelength, It is shown that only relative two-scatterer arrangements in a thin spherical shell give contributions to this correction. A standing wave is formed between the two scatterers in this arrangement.
