摘要
Pearl millet callus showed differential accumulation of solutes like sugars, amino acids, proline, phenols and ascorbic acid in response to sodium chloride salt stress. Sugar and phenol contents decreased at 0.2% NaCl but increased with increase in salinity. Total free amino acids, proline and ascorbic acid increased with salinity. The accumulation of solutes, proline in particular, shows an adaptive change in the metabolic pattern in salt stressed callus.
