ON THE NATURE OF THE DEEP 1.4 EV EMISSION BANDS IN CDTE - A STUDY WITH PHOTOLUMINESCENCE AND ODMR SPECTROSCOPY

摘要
The A-centre, an acceptor with a binding energy of E(a) = 120 +/- 3 meV, has been identified in CdTe using photoluminescence and optically detected magnetic resonance techniques. It consists of a Cd vacancy and a Cl donor on a Te site. The ligand interactions with the three Te neighbours are also resolved. From this, and a study of the A-centre in the ternary Cd1-xZnxTe system, we conclude that the A-centre cannot be the major defect responsible for the selfcompensation in these materials.
